OBITUARY: Harvey Leroy Green, Jr. of Gering

In Loving Memory of Harvey Leroy Green, Jr., 68, of Gering, who crossed the golden bridge Monday, January 11, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Harvey was born June 28, 1952 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Harvey L. and Sally (Weimer) Green.  He grew up on a farm and loved his community.  He attended and graduated from Scottsbluff High with the Class of 1971.  He received HVAC training in Arizona.  He enlisted in the United States Army on July 27, 1972 and served during the Vietnam Conflict until his honorable discharge on July 25, 1975.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, sharp shooters badge M-16, Good Conduct Medal, Military Education, CST, Wireman, USAFESS, and Lineman certifications and recognitions.

Harvey was a dedicated soldier and joined the National Guards, serving for 25 years.  He served during the Afghanistan and Desert Storm Conflicts and was with Food Service Operations and Wheel Vehicle Mechanics until his retirement.

Harvey is survived by his sisters Debera Behrens and Cyinda Kriner and many other family members.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and nephew Rocky Lee Behrens.
