OBITUARY: Henry Harold Ramig of Gering

Henry Harold Ramig, 89, of Gering, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at The Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. His graveside service will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, in West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Pastor Rick Reisig officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and American Legion Post No. 36 Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Western Nebraska Community College Women’s Softball. Henry Harold Ramig was born October 22, 1931, at McGrew, Nebraska to David and Amelia (Nolde) Ramig. He grew up and attended school at McGrew. He served in the United States Marine Corps from May 28, 1952 to May 27, 1954. He lived in California for 25 years and retuned to this area in 1979. Harold drove truck over the road for forty plus years, retiring from NTC. He then mowed greens at Riverview Golf Course.

He loved to play golf and watch WNCC softball. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion Post No. 36.

Survivors include his son, Rick Ramig of Garden Grove, California; daughters, Rene Green of Roseville, Ohio and Rosanne Pineda of Corona, California; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Jack Satur and fiancée Chris Schaneman and their family, Lance and Ashley Satur, Blake, Amber, and Korey Kein, Kayden, Mackenzie, and Allie Schaneman, Roger and Jana Satur and their family, Brooke and Bret Orozco, Trevor Satur, Mike Ramig and family; niece Melanie Reichert and family.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Marlyce Ramig; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Melvin Satur; and one grandson. 

The family would like to thank the staff at The Residency for the care that was given to “Red” over the last three years.
