Jerry Ross, Jr.

After a 20 month battle with Mesothelioma, Jerry Ross, Sr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22, 2022.

Jerry was born on October 8, 1946 in Paterson, New Jersey to Catherine and Bernard Ross. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army and served in Vietnam and Panama. Upon his return, he attended various technical schools and became proficient in several trades.

He worked for Lee County Government in Fort Myers, Florida and after retirement moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska with his wife Peggie. He held a variety of jobs in Scottsbluff, including one at the U.S. Chicory Plant as Operations Manager. He was loved and respected by his crew.

After 3 years, he returned to doing what he enjoyed the most… home remodeling. Jerry and Peggie enjoyed traveling and were always ready for a new adventure. In 2011, they moved to Henderson, NV only to return home 4 years later.

Jerry was very active in his church, Zion Evangelical and served on the church council for many years.  Grebel frying was one of his favorite jobs in the kitchen.

His willingness to help out in any situation, his loyalty to his friends and family, his wit and humor will be dearly missed.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate Peggie; son Jerry Ross Jr. of Cape Coral, FL; daughter Sandra Carter (Keith) of St. James City, FL and grandson Jerry Lee all of Cape Coral, FL; step son Brian Markowich (Amy) of Maryland and nephew Jerry Tim of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Ross and sister-in-law.

Jerry’s wish and fervent prayer was that each one of you will join him someday, in God’s eternal kingdom.

A memorial service will be held at Zion Evangelical Church in the Spring of 2022.  Online condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com.  Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
