Linda Rae Marker was born on June 30, 1944, in San Diego, California to Ray and Vera Marker while Ray was serving in the U.S. Navy.  After WWII ended, the Marker family moved back to Nebraska to farm and Linda attended school in McGrew, Nebraska.  She graduated high school in Minatare, Nebraska and went on to pursue her secondary education at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri.

Linda married Dave Sinks in the summer of 1963, and they welcomed twin boys that following spring.  Not long after, in 1968, Linda gave birth to a daughter and spent her time taking care of the family while supporting Dave’s farming career in the Bridgeport area.

In 2000, Linda lost her beloved husband but kept herself busy by starting a job at Herberger’s in Scottsbluff.  As a natural “people person”, Linda excelled in her retail sales role and stayed with the store until it closed in 2018.  Not ready to slow down, she started working at Call Me Cupcake in Bridgeport, using her “gift to gab” to sell coffee and baked goods until she retired in 2021.

Linda’s favorite pastimes included shopping, the outdoors, ice cream, and visiting with her friends.  Anyone who knew Linda saw her greatest love was for her family, which she was very proud of.  She will be remembered for her quick wit, endless class, and bubbly personality.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Sandra Sinks; son and daughter-in-law Kent and Karey Sinks; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Wamboldt; Grandchildren: Sheree and Cliff Verbeck, Tonia and Calvin Verbeck, Kelsey and Kyle Judy, Kayla and Brett Parker, Christin and Jeremy Randall, Chris and Ashley Guzman, Ryan and Angelica Guzman, Alex Wamboldt and Shaley Petersen.  She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, which she affectionately referred to as “the greats”.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Dave Sinks; her parents, Ray and Vera Marker; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Melvin and Ruby Sinks; her brother, Jim Marker; and her son-in-law, Kevin Jacobsen.
