Lydia was born February 21, 1954 in Del Rio, TX, to Innocente Villanueva and Alicia Munoz. She married Vance Shaw on April 9, 1983 in Reno, NV, and they made their home in Scottsbluff in 1991.
She loved cooking for the community and her family. She worked several years for the Gering Senior Center. She was especially well known during the holidays for her sugar cookies, which we will dearly miss. She enjoyed many moments with her sister watching their favorite soap operas. Bingo was one of her favorite hobbies that she looked forward to every weekend, and it is where she met her best friend of many years, Grace Soundsleeper, who she loved dearly!
Survivors include her husband, Vance Shaw; mother, Alicia Munoz; daughter, Jennie Shaw; sons, Steven Gomez and David Shaw; daughter-in-law, Aisha Watson; sisters, Julia Villanueva, Minerva Smith, and Melinda Salas; brother, Orlando Villanueva; ten grandchildren; and many extended family members.
Preceding her in death are her father, Innocente Villanueva; in-laws, Noah and Delores Wright; brothers-in-law, Arnold, Thomas, and Clyde Wright, and Mac Shaw; and three nieces.
