Funeral services for “Okie” Bobby Wayne Guinn, age 71 of Mitchell Nebraska, who died August 8, 2019 at home surrounded by family, will be held on August 23, at 2:00 PM, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Hebbert officiating. A wake will be held immediately following the service at the Mitchell American Legion. Inurnment will be at Mitchell Cemetery at a later date. He was born April 30, 1948, at Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Arthur Lee Guinn and Anna Josephine Guinn (Bishop) and received his early education in the Fort Gibson, Oklahoma schools. He married Jewell Evelyn Guinn (Ceasar) on December 2, 1966 in Muskogee, Oklahoma and made their home in Muskogee. June 13, 1994 Okie and Mary Flaten started their life together and made their home in Mitchell, Nebraska.
Survivors include Mary Flaten, son Bobby Guinn (Vicki Bougie), step-sons Daryl Cathey and Sam Flaten (Kelly), step-daughter Johnna Jackson, numerous grandchildren and special grandmaMay Lou Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers; Jay, Junior, Dale, Donald, Fred, Paul, and George; 4 sisters, Delores Garner, Maggie Gates, Kelelau Scott, and Wilma Owens; step-daughter Kelly Wilhelm.
Okie moved to Nebraska in 1972 initially working for Stub Line Trucking. Okie purchased Stub Line forming Bob Guinn Trucking in 1980 until 1999. Okie owned Okie’s Used Cars from 1981 to 1982 in Scottsbluff and later Okie’s Used Tractors and Equipment in Mitchell from April 9, 2010 until his death. Okie also owned and managed several rental properties in Mitchell.
For Okie everything was for sell, he loved the art of the deal. He never met a stranger. Okie was a good friend to a lot of people, he was always generous and through his generosity and big heart he helped people.
Okie’s request for the service is casual dress and drive your hot-rod, this is a celebration of his life.
