Reiny was born on June 25, 1925 to Alex and Elizabeth Meter. Reiny was united to the love of his life, Esther (Henkel) Meter, on December 8, 1946 at Hope Congregational Church in Bayard where he was an active lifelong member. To this union 3 children were born, Deborah, Randy, and Dale.

Reiny farmed all his life and purchased his farm near Bayard in the 1950’s where he lived until the time of his passing. He farmed with his two sons, and raised livestock until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and spent every winter in the goose blind. During the spring and summer, he could be found fishing the creek that ran through his property and could also be found in his gigantic garden growing the biggest produce ever seen

Reiny’s greatest pride and joy was his family. It did not matter what he was doing as long as his family was present, he was happy. Reiny donned the title of husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Reiny will be missed here on earth but is now reunited with his wife of 68+ years.

Reiny is survived by his children Deborah Meter and fiancé Gary Stricker of Scottsbluff, Randy and wife Tami Meter of Gering, and Dale Meter of Bayard; granddaughter Jennifer and husband Tom Olmstead and great grandson Elliott Olmstead of Scottsbluff.

Preceding Reiny in death were his Parents Alex and Elizabeth Meter, wife Esther Meter, sisters Esther Milller, Helen Kehm, Irene Michal, and Lydia Weber, brothers Henry, Alex, Walter, and Harry, and half-brother Donald Meter along with numerous other family members and loved ones.
