Reuben Gorr of Minatare

Reuben Gorr, 94 of Minatare, NE, passed away March 2, 2022 in Scottsbluff, NE. His funeral service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church on Monday, March 7 at 10:00 AM with Pastors Chris and Sheryl Kester Beyer presiding. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Minatare.  Visitation will be Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  A prayer service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, March 6 at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Services will be live-streamed on http://www.calvarylutheranscottsbluff.org/. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Calvary Lutheran Church.  Online condolences may be left www.dugankramer.com.

Reuben was born on October 9, 1927 in Haig, son of Fred and Anna (Schmidt) Gorr. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1945. He married Gloria Quindt on Jan 1, 1948 at St. James Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff.

They became members of Calvary Lutheran Church in 1962 remained so to present day. He farmed and fed cattle north of Minatare for over 50 years. He enjoyed going to farm sales, serving on church council, school board, FSA committee, and cemetery board. But most of all he cherished the time spent playing cards with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was blessed to be able to be cared for at his home, which was one of his greatest wishes. The family thanks all the caregivers for their time and loving care. 

His memory will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife Gloria of 74 years, son Dennis (Barb) of Scottsbluff, daughter Jan (Ron) Wymore of Kearney. Grandchildren and great grandchildren: Stacy (Joel) Bean, Caleb and Josh of Kearney, NE; Matt (Jess) Gorr, Bryce, Alexa, and Blake of Longmont, CO;  Ryan (Ann) Wymore, Nathan, Andrew, Jacob, and Grace of Thornton, CO; Shannon (Daryle) Wright, Emily, Victoria, and B’Elanna of Des Moines, IA; and Roni (Ben) Townsend, Brooks, Bentley, and Brecken of Kearney, MO. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Sam, Fred Jr., Dave, Walter and Dick, sisters Marie, Emily, Emma, and Lillian; Grandson-in law Joel Bean.
