Rodger Allen Berry, 74 of Bridgeport, Nebraska passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Christ in Bridgeport with Pastor Jonathan Seng officiating. Inurnment will follow at Angora Cemetery. At his request cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Legacy of the Plains, Bridgeport Rural Fire Department, Morrill County Rodeo or Farm Ranch Association. Rodger was born February 2, 1948 in Alliance, NE to LeRoy and Bernice (Butler) Berry Hart. He attended Angora grade school and graduated from Alliance high school in 1966.
Rodger married Joanne Vogel on June 16, 1968 in Alliance, NE. Rodger and Joanne welcomed son Sidney in 1970 and daughter Kendra in 1972.
Rodger worked the family farm in Angora for many years. He worked in various automotive and tractor part stores through the years before retiring from Bridgeport Tractor Supply.
Rodger served the community or several board including Angora school board, Angora Cemetery board, Morrill County Fair board, Bridgeport Rural Fire District and Courthouse and Jail Rock Golf Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and visiting with anyone.
Survivors include his wife Joanne Berry, son Sidney Berry of Bridgeport, daughter Kendra (Eric) Backer of Roca, NE, grandchildren Micheal Berry of Bridgeport, Stephanie Berry of Minden, Alexander Backer, Sofia Backer and Emelyn Backer all of Roca, NE and great grandson Lincoln Berry of Bridgeport; brother Lynn (Bev) Berry of Alliance, NE, sister Irene (Johnny) Cooper of Bridgeport, sister-in-law Kathie Berry of Washington and many nieces and nephews.
Rodger was preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Bernice and brothers Murray and Dean.
