Terry Lyn Schnell, 57, of Lyman, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Cremation has taken place in accordance with Terry’s wishes and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later time, so that out-of-town family and friends may attend. Terry was born January 3, 1965, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Daniel and Ruth (Scholl) Schnell. He grew up in a farming family, with the family initially living at Vale, South Dakota and then later moving to Lyman, Nebraska. He received his schooling at Heritage Christian School, in Morrill, Nebraska.
Terry’s passing was unexpected, but he was blessed to have accepted Christ as his Savior at a young age. He attended Mitchell Fellowship Church. Terry had often spoke of how happy he was, to have grown up helping on the family farm. He worked as a trucker, both local and cross country, aside from working at various jobs within the community. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, especially with his dogs, Jake and Maggie.
Terry was goodhearted and kind. Terry took any opportunity he could to provide others with uplifting thoughts of encouragement and/or a humorous joke to lighten one’s day. He was loved by many and he will be remembered by all he interacted with. It’s been noted that Terry’s jokes and jovial presence will be missed by all at Morrill Penny’s Diner.
Terry truly loved his daughter, De’Shea. That love will continue on even though his presence is no longer on this earth. Terry is also survived by his mother, Ruth; and siblings, Tim and Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Schnell.
