Valorie L Russell, age 93, of Minatare, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Regional West Medical Center. A visitation for Valorie will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home. A funeral will occur Friday, February 24, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Dugan Kramer with Pastor Edwin Bravatti officiating with Pastor Ken Maldonado. There will be a luncheon at the Seventh Day Adventist Church following burial at East Lawn Cemetery, Minatare, Nebraska. Memorial donations may be given to the family for designation at a later date. Valorie was born February 27, 1929, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Vaughn and Dorothy Germain, and received her early education at Nine Mile, graduating from Minatare High School in 1946. She married Willard Russell on February 22, 1947, in Sidney, and they made their home in Minatare. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, and was a devoted farm wife, working with Willard on the dairy. Cooking was her passion and her food was remarkable, feeding her family and all of the workers who helped on the farm. She loved her animals, keeping pet dogs, cats, raccoons, and even a skunk.
Survivors include her son, Kit Russell; daughter, Gwen (Bob) Johnson; grandson, Daryl (Amy) Freouf; great-granddaughter, Lilly Freouf; son-in-law, Don Freouf; step-grandson, Zach Johnson with step-great-grandsons, Tristen Johnson and Landan Johnson; and step-grandson, Trevor (Lindsey) Johnson with step-great-granddaughter, Ella Johnson,.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard; and daughter, Dorothy “Dottie” Freouf.
