Virgina Ann 'Ginny' Warren of Gering

Virginia Ann “Ginny” Warren, 91 of Gering Nebraska passed away at the Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff on Thursday, May 4, 2022.

Her visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with rosary service at 10:00 a.m.  Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 at the church with Fr. Mike McDonald officiating.  Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery.

Virginia “Ginny” was born on June 2, 1930 to John and Theresa Zyntek in Elba, Nebraska. She grew up with two other siblings, Ray Zyntek and Renee (Ralph) Brenning.  She lived in Georgia and various communities in western Nebraska before settling in Gering, Nebraska.

She married Bill S Warren on August 19, 1952 and to this union they had four children. Tom (Deb) Warren, Carol Silvers-Walgren, Jim (Cindy) Warren and Janelle (Karl) Burns, and three step children, Mike Warren, Sharon (Lester) Beekman and Billy Jr. Warren.  Eleven Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren.

She worked at several restaurants in the community including the Eagles Café, King Fong, Copper Kettle, Stable Club and the Elks Lodge. She enjoyed serving and interacting with the public. Virginia was a life time member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family during the holidays. Her family and faith were very important to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill S Warren, daughter Carol Silvers-Walgren, sister Renee Brenning, brother Ray Zyntek, mother Theresa Zyntek, grandson Jason Silvers, step sons Mike Warren and Billy Jr Warren, step daughter Sharon Beekman, and step granddaughters Marlena Kampbell and Julie Warren.
