MITCHELL – “There’s always something different going on, and that’s what I like about it,” said Stephanie Connelly, the new 4-H Extension Assistant for Scotts Bluff County. “There is never an opportunity in this office to get bored.”

Connelly started her new job on Feb. 1. Before that, the position was held for many years by Jana Schwartz.

“The hardest thing about the transition to this job is that I’ve had some really big shoes to fill,” said Connelly. “Jana was the Extension Assistant for twenty years before I started. The community is used to seeing her. I’ve been continuing to do the things she was doing that the community really liked, picking up the torch – while also finding a way to get into my own groove and finding my own niche of things. For example, I started a Livestock Judging Club here. Ultimately, I just want to make sure I’m doing a good job of carrying on what Jana started.”
