Agriculture has always been a big part of Bobbie and Derek Stuart’s lives. Although they’ve experienced their share of challenges, the Bayard couple is happy to still be heavily involved in ag, and they’re grateful for the lessons their kids have learned and the experiences and skills they’ve gained on the farm.

BAYARD – For Bayard natives Bobbie and her husband Derek Stuart, agriculture has always been a big part of their lives together. Before Bobbie met Derek, she grew up on a small acreage in her youth before starting a career in law enforcement.
“When I was a kid, my family and I worked on a couple different farms and ranches,” said Bobbie. “I helped my mom on a little acreage that we lived on growing up and had horses, but we did not own any of our own cattle or had field crops. But we did help some family friends and worked on a few ranches. Prior to meeting my husband, I had the cattle experience, but I did not have the farm experience until I met him. I’m really grateful for the direction my life has taken me and to have the opportunity to get back to a farming and ranching lifestyle.”
