PRIDE IN AG: Keeping the tradition of success alive

Sally Wheeler was determined to keep Kimball Public Schools’ ag program running smoothly when she took it over in 2014, and she’s done just that over the last nine years. The ag program, including the FFA chapter, has continued to pile up lots of awards and other achievements while also sending a number of students on to a variety of profitable and rewarding careers within the ag industry.

KIMBALL – When Sally Wheeler took over as the ag instructor and FFA advisor at Kimball Public Schools in 2014, she knew she had some pretty big shoes to fill.

That’s because the late Dan Acheson had run the program successfully for 33 years, and then Alen Held added to the success of the program during the next 14 years.

“So when I stepped in, my hope was not to screw it up,” the 41-year-old Wheeler said with a laugh. “I thought, ‘I’ve got to make a good go of this because I can’t mess up the great history this chapter has.’”
