PRIDE IN AG: Living their dream on the ranch

Bill and Julie Kappen of Bayard both grew up in the ag industry, and both wanted to spend their rest of lives staying involved in ag. They’ve done just that, including running their own ranch together just outside of Bayard. With the help of their two daughters, the Kappens have enjoyed lots of success raising cattle and growing hay and forage, and in recent years, they’ve also been quite successful raising hair sheep.

“I really loved that lifestyle,” he said.
