PRIDE IN AG: ‘This is all I’ve ever known, and this is what I love to do’

Kyle Schmaltz of Morrill spent much of his childhood helping his family with their custom harvesting and trucking business, and after graduating from Gering High School in 2003, he and his brother took over the family business. Kyle said he still loves running a trucking company, especially driving a truck himself, and there’s something else he’s enjoyed doing in the last year – using his experience and knowledge to lead the Truck Sales department at Aulick Industries in Scottsbluff.

MORRILL – When Kyle Schmaltz graduated from Gering High School in 2003, he felt more like a 25-year-old than an 17-year-old. That’s because of everything he got to see and do while growing up doing custom harvesting with his family.

“I dealt with so much at a young age, so I feel like I grew up really fast,” said Kyle, who’s 36 now and has been living in Morrill the last 13 years. “It wasn’t always easy, but I learned a lot along the way. And I had a lot of fun, too.”
