Ryan Feltes, of Morrill, has been named Nspire Today!’s Hometown Hero of the Week, sponsored by Schank Roofing in Scottsbluff.
Feltes is in his second year as a firefighter for the Scottsbluff Fire Department. Before that, he spent nine months working as a volunteer firefighter.
Feltes, a 2003 Scottsbluff High School graduate, is part of the Scottsbluff Fire Department’s dive team. He’s also a Hazmat technician, and he’s a rope rescue coordinator.
“It’s really gratifying giving back to the community I grew up in,” Feltes said.
The person who nominated Feltes said, “He always takes his job very seriously. He’s a hard worker, and you can tell that he really cares about everybody and wants to do everything he can to help.”
