SIDNEY – Reese Riddle, a senior at Sidney High School, is Nspire Today!’s Female Student of the Month for November. She’s one of the top students at Sidney High School academically, holding a 4.0 GPA. She’s involved in National Honor Society for the third year, and she’s currently serving as the vice president. She’s also involved in a number of other activities at school, including student council (secretary), Science Club, S-Club, Emergency Volunteer Club, Unified Raiders, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She’s the president of her class. In volleyball, she’s in her second year as a starting setter. Last year she earned all-conference and all-state honorable mention honors, and she was also named academic all-state. In basketball, she’s a two-year starter. Last year she was named to the all-conference and all-state honorable mention teams. She was the varsity MVP of her team last year. In track and field, she competes in the shot put, and discus. Outside of school, she’s involved in the youth group at her church, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney. She also does babysitting and works part-time for Nexgen Outfitters in Sidney. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year university and study to become a physical therapist. The colleges she’s considering are the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. Her parents are Mike and Ashley Riddle.
Q: How pleased are you with what you’ve been able to accomplish academically so far in high school?
RIDDLE: “I would say I’m very pleased. I feel like I’ve been able to use good time management; I’ve been able to balance school with all the activities I’m involved in. I’ve been able to keep my grades high, so it makes my heart happy.”
