SCOTTSBLUFF – When Bands on Broadway started five years ago, organizers hoped it would develop into a much anticipated summer concert series in downtown Scottsbluff.
It has — big time.
The free, family-friendly event has grown every year, and that includes attendance, which at times packed the 18th Street Plaza during last year’s concerts.
“We’ve really tried to push it, and I think it’s continued to get better and better every year,” said Richard Castro, who coordinates the bands, sound, and lighting for the concert series not only in Scottsbluff but also in Torrington and Alliance. “The success of the event has allowed us to bring in more top-notch music artists every year.”
