‘The Lord has blessed me with a lot of good years’

There were a few seconds of silence as Don Fitts leaned gently back in his chair with his hands locked together on his lap. With a blank stare on his face, he tilted his head toward the ceiling and began reflecting on his nearly 95 years on Earth.

Finally, he let out a big breath of air before a grin started to spread across his face. He seemed to find the perfect way to sum up his life up to this point.

“The Lord has been very good to me,” he said, with his voice raising slightly to illustrate the excitement he felt. “The Lord has blessed me with a lot of good years. He wanted me to live this long. I appreciate everything He’s done for me.”
