‘This truly is a wonderful place to be’

Gabby Michna lived and worked in Gunnison Valley in Colorado and also Hawaii before moving to Chadron in 2016. She’s elated she ended up in Chadron, for she loves her job as the executive director of the Chadron Chamber of Commerce, and she also loves living in a community that she says is special and has untouched charm.

CHADRON – When Gabby Michna was attending Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colorado, her goal was to work for a marketing firm or a design company, mostly likely in a large city.

For a few years after she graduated from WCU in 2011, she lived in the Gunnison Valley area in Colorado, working for Crested Butte Mountain Resort. She spent time at that company’s different ski resorts, using her skills as a business major and art major (with an emphasis on graphic design) in the public relations and marketing departments.

Her next move – in 2015 – took her to another exciting place, Hawaii, where she worked as a videographer and photographer on a snorkel tour boat.

“It was definitely a fun time, that’s for sure,” she said.
