SCOTTSBLUFF – Tami Reichert is the owner of G&T Reichert’s Fine Jewelry in downtown Scottsbluff. Tami has 48 years of experience in the jewelry business, including 40 years at G&T Reichert’s Fine Jewelry. Tami recently offered some tips and advice for couples who are either looking to purchase a ring for an engagement or a wedding.

Q: What are some of the current trends you’ve seen pertaining to engagement rings?

REICHERT: “Oval-shaped diamonds are really popular right now, but marquees and emerald cuts are still popular, too. Lab grown diamonds are somewhat new to the industry, but we’ve been selling a lot of those to younger people because they’re much more affordable, and they’re still beautiful. They have the same beauty as a natural diamond in every way.”

Q: What should couples plan to budget for an engagement ring?

REICHERT: “We try to cover all the bases because everyone has a budget. I think if you were to spend between $1,500 and $3,000, you could get a really beautiful ring.”

Q: What’s some advice you would give to couples who are in the beginning stages of looking for an engagement ring?

REICHERT: “These days, a lot of people do some research online. Young people are on their phones all the time. It’s not uncommon for people to come into the store and show me a picture of a ring on their phone. We can either custom make a ring that looks like the one they have a picture of, or we might have something in the store that looks close to what they want.”
