Viola Fern (Perrin) Ehrhart, 98, of Scottsbluff died Sunday, June 16th, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 20th, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Gering United Methodist Church (900 O Street, Gering, NE 69341) with Pastor Seth L. Leypoldt officiating. Viewing occurred Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 from 5-7 pm at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home in Scottsbluff (3201 Ave B, Scottsbluff, NE). Burial was at 2:30 pm at the Alliance Cemetery. Memorials have been established to Gering United Methodist Church (Building Fund) and Regional West Hospice (3701 Avenue D Scottsbluff, Nebraska 69361).
Vi was born on February 28th, 1921 to Lillian R. and Clyde F. Perrin. Vi was born in a sod house south of Whitman, Nebraska. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1938. After graduation, Vi attended Business College in Denver. On April 22, 1951, Viola married Harold R. Ehrhart in Bayard, Nebraska. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before Harold passed away. Harold and Vi owned the Ehrhart Bean Company in Alliance, Nebraska. She worked there for 18 years and retired in 1978. Summers were spent at Lake Minatare for 67 years. Vi and Harold along with their two children, Al and Becki, loved fishing and boating together. Their cabin in the North Platte Valley Boat Club was always open to family and friends. Vi was the longest living Charter Member of the NPV Boat Club until her death. Vi was an avid Huskers and Broncos fan. She loved family gatherings to cheer on her favorite teams, which often included her grandchildren’s sporting events. When Vi moved to The Residency in Scottsbluff, she enjoyed making new friends over coffee, puzzles, and numerous other activities. Vi was a member of Gering United Methodist Church, she was a lifetime member of the Box Butte General Hospital Auxiliary in Alliance and the Christian Women’s Club. Vi is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becki and Steve Thomlison of Gering, son and daughter-in-law, Al and Crystal Ehrhart of Scottsbluff; grandchildren: Scott (Angie) Brown of Wichita, Kansas and Kama (Casey) York of Scottsbluff; step-grandchildren: Matthew (Cassy) Taylor of Ft. Rucker, Alabama, Father Steven Thomlison of Lincoln, Shelly (Zach) White of Greenville, South Carolina, Stacy Thomlison of Rapid City, South Dakota, Sarah (Yinka) Akinyemi of Lincoln; great -grandchildren: Calissa and Easton Brown, Jordan and Treyten York; step-great-grandchildren: Deejay and Emmalynn Taylor, Keenan and Paige White, and Sayo, Modi, Sade, and Damilola Akinyemi; nephew: Paul (Peg) Maunier and great-niece: Marissa (Zak) and their son, Warren Ball.
Vi was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents, and her two sisters.
