YOUTH IN AG: Morrill girl following in her parents’ footsteps

Jessica Wilkinson, a senior at Morrill High School, always wanted to participate – and have success – in 4-H just like her mother and father did. She’s done just that over the years in both livestock showing and a variety of projects, including cooking, sewing and photography.

MORRILL – Jessica Wilkinson always got excited to hear stories about her parents’ involvement – and success – in 4-H when they were little.

“My dad [Jason] showed Hereford Market Steers, and he was pretty successful at that. He even placed at state as the top Hereford Market Steer during his years in 4-H,” Jessica said. “My mom [Julie] showed dairy cows, and she did cooking and sewing, too. She received many awards for her projects.”

Hearing those stories, Jessica said, gave her a desire to participate in 4-H herself.
