CRAWFORD – Ashley Burrous, a freshman at Crawford High School, has been attending Chadron Christian Church since February. She’s been involved in her church’s youth group the last couple months, and she’s helped with Vacation Bible School. Ashley and her parents, Carl and Jennifer Burrous, moved to Crawford from Pennsylvania five years ago to become the owners of Hilltop Motel and Hilltop Pizza, both located in Crawford. At Crawford High School, Ashley plans to participate in basketball and track and field.

Q: How much have you enjoyed attending Chadron Christian Church?

BURROUS: “We’ve really enjoyed going to Chadron Christian Church. When we first started going there, everyone was very welcoming, and we were impressed with [pastor Jared Pilkington]. He knows a lot about the Bible, and he’s helped a lot of people.”

Q: How has going to Chadron Christian Church impacted your life?

BURROUS: “It’s made a very big impact on me. I’ve learned so much, and I’ve really gotten a better understanding of who God is. As a kid, I believed in God, but there were a lot of things I didn’t really understand. I basically just said ‘yes’ to everything. But after I started understanding the meaning behind things, I made a choice to get baptized. So, I got baptized on Father’s Day this year.”
