HEMINGFORD – Aubrey Schledewitz of Hemingford, 12, has been going to church her entire life, including the last four months at Hemingford Congregational Church. Aubrey, a sixth-grader, is homeschooled. Her parents are Nicole and Ryan Schledewitz. Aubrey has one sibling: Jakob, 9.

Q: How much have you enjoyed going to Hemingford Congregational Church?

SCHLEDEWITZ: “I really like going there. Everyone is really nice.”

Q: Tell me a little more about your church.

SCHLEDEWITZ: “It’s a smaller church. There’s only about 25 to 30 people who go there, and most of them are older people. The pastor [Carlos Armenta] is the best. I like how he doesn’t focus on all the worldly stuff. He’s also very joyful and cheerful; he’s always very happy. We go there every Sunday. Service starts at 10 in the morning.”

Q: Are you part of a youth group at your church?

SCHLEDEWITZ: “No, we don’t have a youth group. The only other kids at church are the pastor’s kids.”
