YOUTH MINISTRY PROFILE: Ben Colerick of Sidney

SIDNEY – Ben Colerick, a senior at Sidney High School, has been attending St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney for about nine years. He got confirmed last year after completing his CCD classes. At church he’s an alter server, meaning he helps the priest prepare for mass. He became a member of the Knights of Columbus in October. At Sidney High School, Colerick just completed his sixth year of cross country. He’s also involved in Sidney Raider Television (SRTV), serving as the student executive producer this school year. Outside of school, he plays on a club soccer team in Sidney called the Blackhawks. He also works at Walmart. After high school, Colerick plans to attend either the University of Nebraska at Lincoln or Hastings College. His parents are Amy and Michael Colerick. 

Q: How much have you enjoyed attending St. Patrick’s Catholic Church?

COLERICK: “To be honest, I wasn’t really an active member at our church until a couple years ago when I started getting more religious. I started getting stronger in my faith after going to some church camps.”
