SCOTTSBLUFF – Jaron Lambertson, a junior at Scottsbluff High School, has been attending The Rock Church in Scottsbluff for 15 years. He’s been involved in the The Rock Youth Group since sixth grade. Also at church, he’s on the media team, and his duties include running the cameras to live stream services. Jaron is currently interning at The Rock Church. At Scottsbluff High School, he’s in his third year of the Air Force JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) program. He’s also involved in SkillsUSA and Quiz Bowl. His parents are Tami and Tyson Lambertson, and they’re both pastors at The Rock Church.

Q: How much have you enjoyed attending The Rock Church?

LAMBERTSON: “It’s been pretty fun, especially meeting new people and seeing people grow in their faith. Also, serving is a big part of what I do at the church.”

Q: How has going to church made an impact on your life?

LAMBERTSON: “Going to church has helped me stay on track with my faith, and it keeps reminding me of what God has done for me. Also, going to church has helped me grow in my faith.”

Q: Tell me a little more about your church youth group.

LAMBERTSON: “We meet every Sunday night at 6 at The Rock Church. We’ll play games for about 30 minutes, and then we’ll go downstairs and do live worship. Then we’ll hear a lesson from either Pastor Jacob Crotsenberg or my dad or the worship pastor, Antonio Cortez. Right now, we’re going through a series called “Awestruck,” which is pretty cool. After that, we’ll usually go outside to play a group game, and then we’ll break away and do whatever we want. One of the games we play is Gaga Ball. It’s like dodge ball, but you have to hit the ball on the ground with your fist. If it hits you below the waist, you’re out.”
