Extra hugs for precious baby Camden

Chelsi and Jeremy Jackson of Torrington experienced some terrifying moments in July when their then 7-month-old son underwent back-to-back brain surgeries. But Camden, who has an arachnoid cyst on his brain, is doing fine now, and his situation has made the Jacksons appreciate even more the time they get to spend with one another

TORRINGTON, Wyo. – Camden Jackson was about 6 and a half months old when his parents, Chelsi and Jeremy Jackson, started to get a little concerned about their precious, little boy.

“We noticed that his head was abnormally large,” Chelsi said.

The Jacksons, who live in Torrington, talked to their pediatrician about it, and they decided to start taking periodic measurements of Camden’s head. They couldn’t believe what was happening.

“His head was growing very rapidly,” Chelsi said.

When Camden was about 7 1/2 months old, doctors performed an ultrasound on his brain. Chelsi and Jeremy were horrified by what they saw.

“You could see that he had a huge mass on his brain,” Chelsi said. “At that point, we didn’t know if it was cancerous or not. We were terrified.”
