MITCHELL – If you want to have a unique shopping experience and pick up a freshly baked goodie, then Work of Joy on Mitchell’s Center Avenue is a nice place to stop. And don’t be surprised if you see glimpses of Jesus and Bible verses here and there as well.

“I opened the shop intending to make it a gift shop and a place to sell my handmade goods,” said owner Della Stevens, a longtime Christian. “I also had a few vendors from the Mitchell market who wanted to sell their products out of the store, so I currently carry homemade jams made by Stacia Smith of Atticreations, and I also carry homemade vanilla made by Karen Wertelka. Those products go well in my store because they are a good fit with the treats and breads I make.”
