FEATURE: ‘I wanted to help the downtown’

When Priscilla Sandoz and her husband, Brandon Bailey, purchased the building where Studio B is located in downtown Scottsbluff in 2015, their plan was to use the site mostly to create artwork, store their artwork, and display their artwork and other local artists’ artwork one month out of the year. Eventually, though, Sandoz felt guilty about owning a building downtown that sold items to the public only around Christmas time. So, to help boost traffic and the appeal of the downtown, Sandoz opened an art, unique gifts and nostalgia store in June 2019. The store, like many others downtown, has turned into a popular shopping destination for both locals and tourists.

SCOTTSBLUFF – Unique candles, lotions, teas, mugs, coffee, decorative bags, and a wide variety of other cool items adorn the shelves and walls at Studio B in downtown Scottsbluff.

Some items definitely catch one’s attention, such as the assortment of survival tools, and there’s plenty of decor items with messages that are sure to make people smile or laugh, such as the one that reads, “I think my soulmate might be carbs.”

Sprinkled among the neatly-displayed gift items are pieces of artwork created by the owner, Priscilla Sandoz, who grew up with a zest for art and has produced – and sold – many pieces of art over the years.

Interestingly, though, this isn’t what Sandoz imagined Studio B would look like when she and her husband, Brandon Bailey, bought the store in 2015.
