CHADRON – Sandi and Randy Gulbranson own a gem in Chadron. The Victorian Inn Bed and Breakfast has a long and storied history. The Gulbransons moved to Chadron in 1985. Running a B&B wasn’t the immediate plan; it grew from Sandi’s practicality, and the idea blossomed starting in 2006.
Built in 1910 by a man named James Finnegan, who became Chadron’s mayor the following year and has a park named for him nearby, the stately home has worn many hats: family residence, dorm-style housing and CSC fraternity, music studio, activity events, and holiday gathering place. Now, under the Gulbransons’ care, it’s the Victorian Inn Bed and Breakfast and Airbnb, where guests can savor both timeless charm and modern comfort. Sandi visited with Dona Fleming, who had the white house B&B west of town, and she convinced her she could do this.
“Dona was a real encourager,” Sandi said. “I learned much from her.”
