Kirk Kuxhausen just completed his 31st year in education, including his 17th year as the principal at Mitchell Elementary School. He said he’s glad he pursued a career in education because of the opportunities he’s had to work with so many amazing students, parents, and staff in Minatare, Gering, and most recently Mitchell.

MITCHELL – Kirk Kuxhausen has enjoyed a long, rewarding career so far in education, including spending the last 17 years as the principal at Mitchell Elementary School.
What’s interesting, though, is that Kuxhuasen’s career likely wouldn’t have been as enjoyable – or perhaps as long – if it weren’t for the four-year break he took from education to be an insurance adjustor.
“I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be where I’m at now if I hadn’t done that,” he said.
