Crawford High School freshman Alexa Tollman got involved in 4-H seven years ago, and since then she’s shown many different animals and has participated in numerous 4-H projects. She’s been pretty successful at it, too, winning lots of honors, including several grand champion and championship showman awards. She’s already started working on some new projects, including building a unique and cool-looking bird bath, that she hopes will fare well at this year’s Dawes County Fair and maybe even the Nebraska State Fair.

CRAWFORD – Alexa Tollman of Crawford has no shortage of projects to focus on when it comes to 4-H.
She’s involved in sewing, horticulture, and recycled projects, and she also does photography, cooking, speech, and home environment projects. Oh, and she’s also heavily involved in showing animals, including beef, chicken, rabbits, sheep, and pigs.
“It does seem like a lot,” the Crawford High School freshman said with a laugh.
Tollman, however, wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I like the variety of projects I can do in 4-H,” she said. “If I had to narrow down the list of things I do in 4-H, that would be really hard because I enjoy them all.”
She’s also pretty good at them all, too.
