Wayne Fields of Torrington is using his retirement to hone his woodworking skills. He’s made 320 toy stick horses, and he also makes cool-looking cribbage boards and walking sticks.

TORRINGTON, Wyo. – Wayne Fields spends his retirement doing what he absolutely loves – using his creativity and woodworking skills.
“I get an idea – a little bug in my head – and if it’s wood, I can cut it and make it, and I have fun with it,” Fields said. “I first learned how to work with wood back in high school here in Torrington. I took a shop class. I enjoyed using things like jigsaws and table saws in that class. Then years later, my wife Jan’s dad had a bunch of equipment in his shop, and he could fix and build anything.”
