In the heart of Scottsbluff, a local business with over 50 years of history continues to make a profound impact on the community. Beltone Hearing Aid Center, now under the ownership of Chad Blackburn and Jeri Ross, is more than just a hearing aid provider – it’s a place where technology meets compassion, and where every patient’s story matters. Beltone Hearing Aid Center has been a staple in Scottsbluff since 1973, when it was first established by Ronald and Kay Miller. For decades, the Millers built a reputation for exceptional care and personalized service. Their legacy lives on through Chad and Jeri, who took ownership of the business in January 2024. Chad’s journey with Beltone began in his early teens when he worked for the Millers on their farm. Over the years, he helped with their various business endeavors, sparking an interest in the hearing aid field. This passion led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science from the University of Wyoming in 2011. After gaining valuable experience working for Beltone in Arizona, Chad returned to his hometown in 2012 when the Millers offered him a position at their Scottsbluff office. Jeri, Chad’s business partner, joined the Beltone team in 2012 after being introduced to the Millers through a mutual friend. With a background in healthcare administration and a degree in Health Information Management from WNCC, Jeri brought a wealth of knowledge in medical coding and insurance. Her experience at the Women’s Center at Regional West Medical Center for eight years prepared her to manage the day-to-day operations of Beltone with precision and care. For Jeri, the most rewarding part of the job is witnessing the moment a patient hears clearly for the first time in years. Chad has done a great job with his clients by creating a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and understood. What sets this Beltone office apart is Chad’s commitment to staying at the forefront of hearing technology. His insatiable curiosity drives him to attend conferences, read industry journals, and take online courses to stay ahead of the curve. The field of hearing aids is constantly evolving, with advancements like AI-powered devices that filter background noise and seamless connectivity to smartphones and TVs. Beltone Hearing Aid Center serves patients across the Nebraska Panhandle, with service centers in multiple locations. Outside of work, Chad and Jeri are busy parents. Chad and his wife, Hannah, have two daughters, Grace (4) and Molly (1). Jeri is a mother to Ryder (14) and Madilyn (10). As Chad and Jeri look to the future, they are excited to continue growing Beltone Hearing Aid Center while staying true to its roots.
