Kathleen Reynolds has turned her passion for dog training into a new business, offering pet owners in Scottsbluff, Gering, Mitchell, and Alliance the opportunity to bond with their dogs while learning new skills. Since launching in March 2024, her program, Do More With Your Dog, has been providing obedience training, tricks, and canine conditioning fitness to both pedigreed and mixed-breed dogs.

“There is a need for pet families locally to have fun and build teamwork with their dogs,” Reynolds said. “My classes combine a little obedience, tricks, and fitness to help dogs work their minds in a positive way. Owners tell me their dogs know when it’s training day and get excited to come!”

As an AKC Evaluator, Reynolds offers training in Show, STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen Star Puppy (CGC), Scentwork, FetchDog, FitDog, and Virtual Rally. Her most popular services include Trick Dog and Stunt Dog training, as well as AKC programs like CGC and Rally. Training is primarily one-on-one, but she can accommodate small groups for scent work training in warmer months.

Reynolds brings years of experience to her work. She retired in 2017 after a 33-year career in civil service and became involved in dog sports in 2014. She has since earned numerous certifications, judged national competitions, and trained her own German Shorthaired Pointers in a wide range of disciplines, from conformation and hunting to agility and barn hunt.

Reynolds’ training programs emphasize positive reinforcement and encourage dogs to develop confidence through structured activities. She is also working toward supporting the local 4-H Club to help young handlers learn showmanship, obedience, rally, and agility.

Looking ahead, she hopes to offer a free stunt dog demonstration in Scottsbluff this summer, featuring a client’s two dogs performing alongside her own.

“I love seeing the happiness and pride in owners as they work with their dogs,” Reynolds said. “If I can make a difference, that’s all that matters.”

Reynolds also serves on the Scottsbluff Kennel Club board and volunteers as an election poll worker in Minatare. She encourages anyone interested in training to schedule a meet-and-greet, with no obligation. “It’s never too late to start,” she says.
