At 1711 Broadway in Scottsbluff, Marketplace Boutique is more than a clothing store – it’s a ministry to the owners. It’s a space where women can shop and feel uplifted. Owned by Davena Benton and Kendra Kaczor, the boutique first opened in Mitchell in January 2023 before expanding to Scottsbluff in January 2024 due to rapid growth. The boutique specializes in size-inclusive fashion, carrying tops from XS to 4X and pant sizes ranging from 0 to 24. Their most popular items include
faith-based apparel, crew neck sweatshirts, and premium denim from brands like Judy Blue, Flying Monkey, and KanCan.
“Jesus is the heartbeat of our store,” says Kendra Kaczor. “This business has been His from day one; we give Him all the glory to any of our success. What was once a small hobby has blossomed into what we are today.”
Added Benton, “We anoint our building, pray over our customers. This has become a place of fellowship, encouragement, and healing. This is God’s store.”
Many women find more than just clothing. They experience prayer, confidence, and friendship. Some have even shared that the boutique’s messages and testimonies have helped them through difficult times.
“We want every woman who walks through our doors to feel beautiful, valued, and encouraged,” Benton said. “We’re not just selling clothes – we’re reminding women they are worthy.”
Beyond fashion, Marketplace Boutique is dedicated to giving back. They have sponsored the Midwest Theater’s summer children’s shows, Mitchell cheerleaders, and the Gering yearbook, just to name a few. They are currently supporting the April 12 Adult Prom at the Scotts Bluff Country Club, an event benefiting a memorial park in Gering for parents who have lost children. Looking ahead, the boutique has exciting plans for growth and community engagement. Benton and Kaczor hope to launch a podcast highlighting women’s stories of overcoming challenges, as well as offer Bible studies within the store. They are also expanding their product selection to include purses, perfumes, and more unique fashion pieces.
