Charles Theodore Gentry of Gering

Charles Theodore Gentry, 78, of Gering, died Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood Arkansas.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.  Cremation has taken place.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Charles was born March 1, 1943 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Archie and Madge (Barry) Gentry.  He graduated from Helena High School in Helena, Arkansas.  Charles enlisted in the United States Air Force fresh out of high school in October 1962. He took great pride in working on the B52 aircrafts. Charles was honorably discharged in February 1966.

Charles became a computer programmer and one of the very first in Memphis, Tennessee.  He was skilled and precise in his work.  He was primarily employed with Fedex throughout his career.

Charles married Janet Denise Mills in 1980 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Calvary Baptist Church.

He was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan.  Charles loved Jesus and was a member of WestWay Christian Church in Scottsbluff.  He was a friendly man and enjoyed meeting new people and conversating.  

Survivors include his wife, Denise; four daughters, Jana (Allen) Wright, Rachel (Jeff) McGowan, Rebekah Hanski, and Christine (Michael) Allen; thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roger Mills; sister-in-law, Melody Gentry; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Barry Gentry; sister, Rowmel Gentry; and father-in-law, Carl Mills.
