Iva Renee Poor Bear, 50, of Scottsbluff, died Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her home. A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Lakota Lutheran Center in Scottsbluff. Inurnment will be held at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday, May 27, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, May 28, at Lakota Lutheran Center. Iva was born February 16, 1971 in Rosebud, South Dakota to Hanson Poor Bear and Wanda Never Miss A Shot. She graduated from Gering High School. Iva was a mother to seven children and also worked as a certified nurse’s aide for many years.
Her hobbies included word searches and crocheting. Iva enjoyed spending time at the local art center and being outdoors at the beautiful parks. Her favorite music was Ace of Base and Bone Thugs. She was a caring, positive, Native woman who left a lasting imprint on her grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother, Wanda Never Miss A Shot; children, Angela Poor Bear, Felicia Janis, Elizabeth Janis, Andrea Janis, Edward Janis Jr., Edwin Janis and Cierra Janis (Shawn Douville); and nineteen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father.
