Karen was born at Scottsbluff Methodist Hospital to Lisle F. Dugan and Mildred Genevieve (Pearson) Dugan on December 18, 1946. She went to a district country grade school, and despite the challenges she faced with learning, she was strong and independent. She was passionate about caring for animals, especially dogs. She loved summer and enjoyed gardening and riding her bike. Flowers brought her tremendous joy. She loved to crochet, and while she was at Monument Care and Rehabilitation, every Wednesday, she would crochet baby blankets with the ladies from Chuck Wagon Church, where she attended faithfully. Making Sunday morning pancakes at the church was a favorite past time. She was a people pleaser, especially in her work. She delivered papers for the Star Herald for many years, and worked for Sunshine Day Care and God Father’s Pizza.
She is survived by her many nieces and nephews: Roy (Carol) Dugan of Scottsbluff, NE; Connie (Nick) Stauffer of York, Colleen (Melvin) Brozek of Henderson, NE; Lyle (Terri) Dugan of Hemingford, NE; Deanna (Randy) Flamig of Rawlins WY; Allan (Nancy) Greathouse of Troutdale, OR; Tammy (Phil) Salman of Greeley, CO; and numerous great nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eleanor and Bertha; and brothers, Richard and Russel.
