Klaus W. Galinsky, 89, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE.
He was born March 30, 1930 in East Germany to Arthur and Elfriede (Weiss) Galinsky. He was the youngest of 4 children. His family made their home in East Germany and operated a farm for the consumer markets.
Klaus married Inge Lenhardt on August 11, 1951 in Germany. After coming to the United States they spent 2 ½ years in the Gordon, NE area before moving to Alliance in 1955. When they became U.S. citizens they were able to purchase their farm west of Alliance in 1957. Over the years Klaus received many agricultural awards including Outstanding Young Farmer in 1957 and Box Butte County Conservation Farm of the Year in 1965.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth, his grandsons, Kevin and Brent, a great-grandson, Michael and twin great-granddaughters, Kaylea and Carley. He is also survived by his sister, Gerda of Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Inge in 2006, his brother, Helmet and his sister Lotte.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church with Reverend Martin T. Schnare officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-7 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
Memorials may be given to the church.
