OBITUARY: Martin B. Grumbles of Minatare

Martin B. Grumbles 71 of Minatare, Nebraska passed away Saturday January 25, 2020 at home.

His memorial services will be held Saturday February 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. Military honors will be provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard. Online condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com.

       Martin was born on July 26, 1948 in Denver, Colorado to Walter and Bridget (Harding) Grumbles. He received his education at Highland High School. He married Carrie Louise Mitchell on September 20, 1967. To this union they had 4 children.

   Martin enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam with the 1st Calvary Division from “67” to “69” during which he was awarded the Purple Heart medal, Two Bronze Star medal’s, good conduct medal, National Defense medal and the Air medal. After Vietnam martin was stationed in Alabama and Germany where he trained for Tank Commander.

       In 1979 the family made their home in Minatare, Nebraska.

 Martin worked at “US” Welding for a number of years. He retired on May 30, 2015. After a very brief retirement he went to work at RWMC for the Valet department.

   Martin is survived by his daughter Linda (Ron), sons: Martin Jr. (Melissa), James (Cortney), John (Darla), 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, brother Pat (Patty) Grumbles, sister Marie O’Neil, numerous nieces, nephews, brothers in law, a sister in law and Gail and Tammy Hobday.

  He was preceded in death by his loving wife Carrie, his parents, his mother and father in law, twobrothers in law, a sister in law and a close family friend.
