Mary Grubbs passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska at the age of 91. Mary was born to Floyd and Violet [Johnson] Nighswonger in Harrisburg, NE. She attended school in the rural Banner County schools. At age 12, the Gospel of Christ came into the Community and she became a faithful disciple until the end.
Mary and Guy Grubbs were married in Hot Springs, SD. They settled in Banner County, NE and welcomed four sons to their family. Together, they all worked the family homestead ranch. After raising their children, Mary then proudly completed 25 years of work as a dietician at Northfield Retirement Community in Scottsbluff. She loved working with the staff and residents there, striving to improve the everyday for everyone. She enjoyed needlework and reading in her spare time. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her children; Gary, Joe [Lori], and Lyndon [Bridgett] all of Nebraska, and Steve [Debbie] of Wyoming. She has 13 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband Guy, Parents, and her Great-Grandson Garrett Grubbs. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings; three brothers, three sisters, and three infant brothers.
Endowments graciously accepted at the Banner County Fire & Rescue Unit, or the Scottsbluff Fire and Rescue Unit.
A memorial service for Mary will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff, NE with Leslie Pountney and Richard Gasser officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com.
