Philip James Landercasper was born on March 28, 1983 in Lexington Nebraska to Lane and Betty Landercasper. In October 1983, the family moved to Gering Nebraska where his parents opened their first Video Kingdom franchise. Philip made his way through the Gering school system graduating in 2001. He went on to attend WNCC where he received an associate’s degree in auto body and paint.   He worked as a salesman from the age of 16 at Video Kingdom in Scottsbluff.  He loved tinkering on cars and all things electronic.  During his college years he fixed up a car that he would drive in the demolition derby at the county fair.  Later Phil worked for his parents managing the Subway restaurants first in Sidney and later as the General Manager of locations in Scottsbluff, Gering, Mitchell, and Morrill.  He also managed the C store on Avenue B for Co-op.

Philip made a perfect match with fiancée Jessica Tennant and they were planning a July 2022 wedding.  Philip enjoyed many friends and relatives and being the life of the party! He loved golf, the lake, the Huskers, and cooking. Cooking became an obsession along with canning, barbequing, and watching the cooking channel.  Last year, Philip was very proud when he took Jessica’s son, Tyson, on his first deer hunt.  He was a good friend and always had time to help a friend in need.  He was a beloved uncle to six nephews, and the Godfather for four of them.  He was a pet lover during his lifetime and owned many dogs, cats, lizards, snakes and birds.

He is survived by his parents Lane and Betty Landercasper, his sister Lori and (Cody) Greeley, Jackson, Maxwell, Luke, and Hudson of Gering, sister Tracy and (David) Lockwood, Landon, and Austin of Lincoln; grandmother Dorothy Landercasper of Lincoln; fiancée Jessica Tennant and her son Tyson of Scottsbluff; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
