Kerry and Ty Marker have spent the last 23 years growing their business, but more importantly, they have helped many local producers succeed. The Markers see themselves as one part of a large chain, linked together to help others succeed. They’re happiest when they’re building relationships with others, a core component at Marker Ag.

SCOTTSBLUFF – When you drive through western Nebraska, you’ll pass a variety of farms and ranches, but most people rarely stop to think about what goes on behind the scenes to keep the cattle healthy and the crops growing tall and strong.
From planting to harvest and calving to the sale barn, one couple is working to help local producers raise their best products.
Kerry and Ty Marker have lived in the valley their entire lives. Kerry was a farm girl, and Ty had a farm and ranch background. Ty was farming in the late 1990s when Don Dillman, owner of Sure Crop Chemical in Melbeta, approached him to see if Ty would like to intern at the company.
“Ty went to meet with him and decided he wanted to learn the ropes,” Kerry said. “He interned there for three years and then took over.”
Ty said it was not an intentional move to change the type of work he was doing, but found it was a great business opportunity as well as a good way to learn from someone who had been in the business for 35 years.
“We have to give a lot of credit to him,” Kerry said. “He gave us the opportunity.”
