Bob Bernhardt, a resident at Western Nebraska Veterans Home in Scottsbluff, has been named Nspire Today!’s Hometown Hero of the Week, sponsored by Schank Roofing in Scottsbluff.
Bernhardt served in the Army as a mechanic from Dec. 4, 1956, to Nov. 29, 1958. After serving in the Army, he returned to Scottsbluff.
Bernhardt, 85, was born and raised in Scottsbluff. He and his wife, Marlene (Weiss) Bernhardt, were married for 52 years. Marlene passed away 13 years ago.
