SCOTTSBLUFF – A number of people from the area had a chance to win cool prizes, enjoy free food and drinks, check out the Elite Total Fitness gym, and best of all, take part in a special meet and greet with Western Nebraska Pioneers baseball players Friday at Elite Total Fitness, which is part of Elite Health Center, located at 820 West 42nd St. in Scottsbluff.

“We are the official gym of the Pioneers baseball team, so we thought it would be fun to give people in the area a chance to meet and greet the Pioneers players here,” said P.J. Brown, the team lead at Elite Total Fitness. “I thought we had a great turnout. Everyone had a great time.”

The event attracted a number of area youth, including a Scottsbluff 12U travel baseball team. The event was extra special for them, as the dozen or so youth players had a chance to not only meet the Pioneers players, but they also had a chance to work out with them, including running several laps around the Elite Health Center building and taking part in a number of warmup exercises inside the large Elite Total Fitness gym.

“I think this was a really cool experience for the kids,” Brown said. “It was great seeing the kids smile and laugh while interacting with the Pioneers’ players. The Pioneers players were super nice to them and were rooting for them as the kids were running and working out. We thought it would be a cool idea to have the kids come here and work out with the Pioneers’ players for a little bit. I think it helped show the kids that it’s important to warm up before you go out and do an activity.”

Brown, who became the team lead at Elite Total Fitness in March, said he has enjoyed watching the hard work the Pioneers’ players have been putting in at the gym.

“I’m here all day, so it’s been fun getting to know the players and seeing how dedicated they are to making themselves better athletes,” Brown said. “Whenever they’re in here, you can see how serious they are about this. They’re also very nice and respectful.”

Brown said he’s excited that the Pioneers’ organization has chosen Elite Total Fitness as the place for its players to improve their strength and conditioning.

“It’s super cool to see them here working out. I think this is the perfect place for them,” Brown said. “We have something here for everyone – every fitness level – and I definitely see the Pioneers’ players utilizing the equipment in here that is specific to their needs. I think we have really met their needs as far as what they need in order to train and become even more successful baseball players.”

Both kids and adults who attended the meet and greet enjoyed a barbecue provided by the various businesses at Elite Health Center. GNC was also there giving away items, such as protein bars and energy drinks. Kids were given Elite Total Fitness water bottles, and several prizes were given away, including a gift basket and Pioneers baseball tickets. In addition, Elite Total Fitness offered a special deal in which people could sign up for a one-year membership and receive their first month free of charge.

Brown said things have been going well at Elite Total Fitness, which will be celebrating its one-year anniversary of being open next month.

“Everyone who comes here is really impressed with the facility,” he said. “We have a lot of equipment – there’s something here for everyone – and we have different programs that people can be part of. It seems like we’re always adding new things, too.”

That’s especially true, he said, for people who become gym members.

“We just keep adding benefits to being a member here,” he said. “The facility is open to members 24/7 now, we just got a tanning bed, and we just lowered our massage prices to what I think is probably the best in town – $25 for a half hour, $50 for an hour, and $75 for 90 minutes. Those massage prices are for members only. We do have our own massage therapist on staff, and we have a little massage area where people can get massages. It makes it really convenient to come to the gym and get a massage. We really appreciate our members and try to give them all the perks we can.”

Other perks of joining Elite Total Fitness, Brown said, include being able to utilize a kids play area in the gym, which is staffed, and having an option to use on-site lockers and showers.

Brown said anyone wanting to see the gym or even use the gym can try it out for free for one day. Elite Total Fitness offers memberships for individuals, couples, families, students, and seniors.

Although the gym is open to members 24/7, the gym is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members receive a code to access the gym during non-staffed hours.

Brown said people can stay up to date on what’s happening at Elite Total Fitness, including their upcoming one-year anniversary promotions and specials, by visiting their Facebook page.
