Katie Chandler always wanted to follow in the footsteps of her mom, Jan Fibelstad of Bayard, who was a cosmetologist for 24 years. Katie is doing just that, as she recently opened Hair by Katie inside the newly remodeled Compliments in downtown Scottsbluff.

SCOTTSBLUFF – Katie Chandler knew at a pretty young age that she wanted to get involved with cosmetology.
She wanted to follow in the footsteps of her mom, Jan Fibelstad of Bayard, who was a cosmetologist for 24 years.
“I basically grew up in the salon,” Chandler said with a laugh. “My mom did hair at the Hairbender [in Scottsbluff], so I got to be down there a lot, visiting with all the ladies and watching my mom do hair. I really enjoyed that opportunity, and I was excited to do that myself when I got older.”
